Carnivale

This weekend was Carnivale (not Carnival, Carnivale. Get it right people). It was mental. I mean really mental. My host family and I went to the little town where my host dad grew up and where his mum still lives. There was a big parade with people (myself included) throwing confetti at each other and people on the floats throwing candy at the crowds. And I do mean 'at', not 'to'. As in ditching at us with intent to cause harm. I got hit in the head, many times, and it hurt. But then I got to eat it, so it turned out OK. And it's really good candy too, like Lindt. Lindt! That's the best chocolate you can get in Australia! (In my opinion) And tasty lemon candy with liquid centres. So awesome. Not so awesome, the dumb guys from Naples who hit on me. One had a lip peircing, the other had a pattern shaved into one of his eyebrows. They asked me if I used coke, then expressed dissapointment when I said no. One told me 'He loves the pussy.' I retaliated with 'Yeah, well the pussy doesn't love you' but he didn't understand me. They asked for my phone number, I said no. Idiots.
Then later there was Battle of the Oranges, basically all the guys in town throwing oranges at each other in teams, suburb versus suburb. Anybody who didn't wish to participate wore a silly looking red hat. I was extremely glad I didn't wear shoes with complicated soles. It was crazy and gross. I have photos. I hope the team that had death as their mascot won (yes, there's apparantly a winner, how they select them I do not know) because you have to kick a fair bit of ass to have death as your mascot. I wanted to steal one of their flags but I didn't get an opportunity. Or one of the ace of spades flags. There was also another team that's mascot was Satan. I wouldn't want to mess with that team.
Anyways got two days off school coz of Carnivale. Back tomorrow. Fun fun.

Also, today marks the first time I managed to make a sentence of the words I have learned. Io ho un'amica Americana. I feel so proud.
